David Leys

Professional Experience
David Leys is an Of Counsel at IntLaw LLP. His practice focuses on international trade, corporate and commercial law, intellectual property, competition law, and emerging technologies.
David advises multinational companies and international organizations on complex transactions, corporate governance, compliance strategies, and cross-border disputes. His mandates include representing Fortune Global 500 companies, industry associations, and international organizations in matters involving trade remedies, competition investigations, regulatory compliance, and international transactions, as well as appearing before Belgian trial and appellate courts in commercial and intellectual property disputes.
Academic and Thought Leadership
David serves as Professor of Economic Law at the Haute École Francisco Ferrer and at the Enseignement de Promotion et de Formation Continue (EPFC) in Brussels, and regularly lectures at other leading academic institutions.
David is also a Doctoral Researcher at the Université catholique de Louvain, where his research focuses on the regulation of global trade in the digital era, and is currently a Visiting Scholar at Duke University School of Law.
As part of his ongoing practice, David speaks at international conferences and publishes in leading international law journals on a regular basis.
Education and Professional Qualifications
David holds LL.M. degrees from Columbia Law School and the College of Europe, after earning his Law Degree at the Université catholique de Louvain, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E). David is barred in Brussels.
